About Steven
I grew up about an hour south of Atlanta. Ever since I was a child, anyone who knew me knew that what mattered most to me was helping people.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Auburn University (War Eagle) in 2012. From there, I struggled to find my place in a professional world. In 2014, I decided to seek higher education, and earned my Master’s degree from Georgia State in 2016.
My career began with an internship at a felony drug court. Since then, it has progressed to working at various settings including DUI courts, detox facilities, inside Rice Street Jail, doing community service, at a psychiatric hospital, and in various PHP/IOP programs. My primary therapeutic modalities have been CBT, DBT, ACT, and existentialism.
I earned my APC in 2017. Throughout my time as an APC, it was challenging for me to find Board-approved supervisors that were either at a reasonable price, or could offer quality supervision to actually help me grow as a therapist. Once I earned my LPC, I knew that my next point in my career development would be to ensure other APCs did not have to experience what I did. My priority from that point on, other than maintaining my licensure, was earning my CPCS.
Now, I am incredibly grateful to be in a position to offer professional development to others who were in my position at one point, and see them become the best versions of themselves they can be.
Outside of work, I enjoy going to Atlanta Braves and Atlanta United games, reading and writing, origami, listening to music, and spending time with my fiance Megan and dog Yoda. I have also been practicing some style of martial arts since 1996, I am currently training Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
Thank you so much for taking time to read this, and I’m excited about the supervision services I can offer you! Please feel free to contact me for a free consultation to see if we would be a good fit for each other.
